SCULPTURE ‘AIR, LAND AND WATER

Photo: Nicola Pitaro

Air, land, and water – represented by a bird, a polar bear and a fish – are being carried by a human like a backpack, emphasising the human responsibility towards Nature.

The breast symbolises fertility and success.

Standing on one foot, the composition, created in 2001, powerfully conveys the challenge of preserving a balance with Nature.

Artist: Kellypalik Qimirpik (1948–2017)
