How can we solve the CO₂ problem?

We need to rebalance the CO₂ concentration in the atmosphere in order to limit climate change and its consequences. To do this, we must…

… reduce CO₂ emissions
We can reduce our CO₂ emissions by switching to low-carbon energies, capturing ‘unavoidable’ CO₂ emissions, increasing energy efficiency and being more conscious consumers.

… strengthen natural CO₂ reservoirs
Natural ecosystems such as forests, peatlands and oceans bind considerable amounts of CO₂. If we preserve and regenerate them, more CO₂ remains permanently stored.

… remove CO₂ from the atmosphere
We can use various technologies to remove excess CO₂ from the atmosphere and store it permanently.

To achieve climate neutrality (net zero), reducing emissions is fundamental; however, all three strategies mentioned above must be implemented.

Let’s keep it CO₂OL

The good news is that we know what needs to be done and we can all contribute. The time to act is now.

Society

Climate change affects us all. Extreme weather events, hot summers and periods of drought are no longer distant threats – they are already reality.

Economy

If we want to protect the climate, we need to know where greenhouse gas emissions come from and how much they amount to.

Nature

Nature is our strongest ally in dealing with climate change while providing us with all the resources we need to live.
